I’ve decided I’m going to gift myself some colleactable edition Barbies.
I collect Black cultural items which I just realised can be classed as hobby. I use to collect Black American films on DVD and when Black Panther came out I decided to collect all the POP figures. I bought John Boyega’s Finn Doll – it’s never been opened – and I even collected copies of Edward Enniful’s Vogue during his first year.
So, I was already excited to purchase one of my favourite women, Maya Angelou, and a beautiful Basquait-inspired Barbie. Then, they revealed that they’re releasing a SHONDA RHIMES BARBIE! The most acclaimed showrunner of all time. Plus, they also have makeup artist Pat Macgrath in the mix!
I can’t lie. I’m excited and will enjoy every single one of them at my big big age.
