The Context
Working closely with publishers, agents and authors, I have delivered book events designed not only to launch new titles, but to honour the authors behind them. These events have spanned multiple genres and age groups, often focusing on Black writers and illustrators whose work deserves thoughtful, community-driven celebration.

My Role
I managed all liaison with artists, publicists and publishers, negotiated venue partnerships, oversaw event promotion, and ensured each event was meaningfully captured for future use. Whether held in person or online, each event was shaped to feel intimate and intentional, creating space for connection, not just Q and A.

During the pandemic, I collaborated with production partners to pivot to digital formats, ensuring continuity in community engagement at a time when connection mattered most.

The Journey
Each event came with its own needs. Some were public celebrations, others were intimate sessions for children and families. I have worked with literary icons, bestselling authors, first-time writers and illustrators, always tailoring the tone to the audience and the work. My priority has always been to uphold the energy of the book, the values of the author, and the richness of the communities they speak to.

The Result
The events consistently drew engaged, often intergenerational audiences, and helped authors reach readers in warm, culturally grounded ways. These were not just launches, they were moments of visibility, trust and resonance.

What I Am Proud Of
I am proud of how these events made books feel alive, how they gave authors space to be seen, and gave communities access to storytelling that reflects them. I produce with care, cultural fluency and audience in mind, whether in a bookshop, a museum or on screen.
