Every year I pull together images to inspire me on my journey in life. I also put images of people who I admire: my go-to people Ozwald Boateng, Rihanna, Bozoma St. John and Akua Agyemfra have been on my board for the last two years minimum.
In 2022 two new people made the list: Issa Rae and Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe. Though my board sits in my office and on my wardrobe door, today I took the moment to actually “look” at it whilst on a call and had a realisation.
Some of you may be aware that I had my first op-ed feature in PR Week yesterday talking about Stormzy’s new single, Mel Made Me Do It.
If you look at the board you’ll see the #Merky logo, a picture of Mel (Stormzy’s stylist and the Mel he’s referencing) and Akua (Stormzy’s Brand Manager of sorts)…
I can’t even remember why I added #Merky to the board but it manifested itself in my life anyway.
