For the last 5 years I’ve picked a word to represent the forthcoming year and this year my word is ‘servitude’.
Honestly, after 2024 had me serving lots of different people and circumstances, it feels counterintuitive to have it as my word of the Year. I’m tired! But…I’m reminding myself that serving others doesn’t mean that I can’t serve me too.
It will also be a key word when I make major decisions I.e. how does this decision serve me and/or my wider goals.
2024 was a year I really grafted for my family to make sure they had what they needed of me, in terms of support. My word of the year was the phrase ‘intentionally building’ and I failed miserably because my priorities had to be elsewhere.
This year I’m taking a conversation I had with a friend to heart where she challenged me to put me first. She reminded to put me front and centre. To think about me before thinking about everyone else.
